Maynard
Maynard arrived at IPPL on 30 October 2009. He was not mistreated, but had grown up in a small sanctuary in the west. When he was six years old, he started to call like an adult gibbon. Gibbon calls are loud. Angry neighbors protested and threatened to kill the little ape, and contacted local authorities.
IPPL was asked to give him a new home and was glad to do so. Maynard is sweet and gentle and eats well. He loves playing with purple toy monkey. At IPPL, he is one of 33 gibbons and can sing as loud as he wants!
